New Perth Mint Transformers Silver Coins

4 Attachment(s)
I believe these were just released, actually it may even be a presale. Anyways I grabbed 3 of each, it looks like they have potential to appreciate nicely at a mintage of only 5,000 each.

Coins are of Megatron and Optimus Prime

That's kind of cool.

Those are very cool coins. I like the Optimus Prime coin better IMO.

Its kind of a heavy price but what if these turn out to be like the Red Back Spiders? Imagine that

You got a point there. You might be right especially if you resell it to a collector that is desperately looking for one and besides the second Transformers movie is very good and a lot of people are watching it based on the box office $ receipts.

These are neat coins! However, the second Transformers movie is absolutely horrible. I think it's got around a 20% on RottenTomatoes. It did do very well in the box office in terms of revenue but don't waste your time going to see it because it's truly a massive pile.

I already saw the second Transformers movie and I loved it. I was not disappointed. It was a good movie IMO however ,I will not buy the Perth Mint Transformers Silver coins because the price that I would be paying is more than I can stomach.

These 5,000 mintage coins are almost always a sure hit. Worst case scenario you loose a little bit or you get your money back when it comes to resell time. I cant see the prices going below what the Perth offers them for but you never know.

Speculating can be a dangerous game but it can always pay out nicely. Imgaine if these turn out like the Red Back Spiders and the set sells for $500 or more. I mean hell even if they go up to $150 each which is not far fetched when you look at coins from the Battle Series and some of the D&D, that is still a little bit of profit.

I really think these have good potential due to their limited mintage, "official" coin status and a widely known franchise. You cant go wrong reallz and hell you can always give them as a cool gift even if you dont like colored coins.

I have to admit that I WILL flip two sets once they go up in price. Its FREE money when you resell for higher in a couple of months

Yeah that is possible that these coins could become another "Red Back Spider" in the sense that it could go way up in value. That could potentially work out if you sold all of them at a much higher profit and to keep 1 for yourself. I guess we will see what will happen.

Where on the coin is the weight and purity stamped? I kind of like them but I wouldn't buy them if they're not stamped with weight/purity.

Just got my 3 optimus and 3 Megatrons and I am royally upset with the way the Perth mint handled these coins. They come in flimsy plastic with paper inserts and when i recieved them all the coins were roaming free inside this plastic prison. The packaging looks like the type that would beused to package toys, very poor and the capsule is secured by some sort of glue substance to the plastic insert. Very poor design. One of my coins was flying free outside the capsule and luckily there were no visible scratches. I cannot believe how the Perth mint let this packaging design fly, it is a disgrace to their product line.

Awesome coins and the low numbers I received were nice (all 30's for Optimus) but the presentation absolutely sucks. For those who bought them be prepared to see a disaster.

Toy packaging + Silver Coin= Transformers disaster

Check Gainesville Coins they may still have them available. It seems to me that Gainesville Coins bought a whole bunch and are selling them (for Aug 1st delivery) Also I think Euro Collections and Downies still carries them.

Nice coins, definitely gives some flair to the usual and boring bullion stack.

matter of fact Downies has them available for $78

The limited mintage of 5000 is the number of people Perth expect to buy the coins for $78.

Sorry man ...us poor folks have to fend for ourselves you know. Zimbabwe surely wont be looking down on me because after all i wont be going back to live in The US of A. Im a proud military service member but I refuse to put my family through what you guys have been going through.

My greatest sympathy to you, really. Im still keeping my colorized discs, one set and the rest will go to Ebay. If my speculating doesnt pay off, then oh well I just bury the coins with the rest of my 400 oz of silver

Well, seriously, if the speculating doesn't pay off, don't be afraid to drop me a PM. I'd take 'em for what you paid. I don't mind buying from a fellow GM'er, but I won't pay that kind of $$$ to Perth or Gainesville (just on principle). The coins do look cool. Strictly a conversation piece though IMHO.

Stay low and watch your six brother, I'll be praying for you.

Thanks Jeff...theyre pretty neat colorized discs. Ill take your offering into consideration...kids would love them while giving them the sense of holding oo something valuable. I bought extra sets to flip so it pays for my keeper, nothing wrong in trying to make an extra buck. In the mean timecheck out another colorized disc I bought for my wife...pretty neat I think. Has a real pearl too.

What i got a kick of the most is the short paragraph from the insert...take note of the portion in black:

In our latitude a pearl is a sign for 30 years of marriage; the pearl wedding anniversary. Just like pearls, the joint years have ranked themselves into a life’s chain. Each pearl is different. Only collectively they add up to a chain and are beautiful and precious as in a long marriage itself. A pearl necklace is definitely a wonderful gift for such a special occasion. Why wait until that time has come, this beautiful coin could be a start.

In other words why wait to get married to give your loved one a pearl necklace

Take care over there too
